Jazz fans and the metropolitan New Orleans community celebrate America's most significant original art form through the Jazz Centennial Walk of Fame. This unique promenade, honoring one of New Orleans most important creations, spans the levee from the Algiers Point ferry terminal to DeArmas Street, providing walkers with a spectacular view of the Mississippi River and the sounds and stories of the greatest jazz artist of the Twentieth century.

The enhancement of the levee crown at Algiers Point will provide a safe, convenient pedestrian promenade from which tourists and residents alike can view the New Orleans skyline. The theme of the promenade reflects the long jazz history in Algiers and all along the Mississippi River, which became America's music corridor.
